People often say people are "slaves to their emotions"... This has never felt true to me. Emotions are TEMPORARY. And if you're only a TEMPORARY slave... then you're not really a slave, are you? What people are ACTUALLY slaves to are their energy levels FIRST and their dopamine attachments SECOND. In that order. These are STATES of being. Not JUST emotions. Let's touch on energy levels. You CANNOT overcome poor energy for consistent periods of time. Your body simply will not allow it. You can for SPURTS of time. But you eventually will be forced to rest. The average person simply does not possess the energy within them to get the shit they need to get done. And WHEN they do, they give it away to either a substance or external situation. Our energy levels are dictated by 3 things: Our thoughts (which are ALSO dictated by our energy levels, there is a feedback loop here) + DIET + lifestyle. THOUGHTS / YOUR MIND is the most powerful because it is the only variable that can overcome all other variables. Someone with the right mindset can break all the “rules” and still win. But the average person can’t. Removing substances (alcohol, caffeine, weed, etc) is going to be the BIGGEST mover for your consistent energy levels. Substance removal is then followed by DIET (removing sugar, bad oils, etc). Fix these two & your energy will naturally rise which will cause your thoughts to naturally become more positive. 2nd is dopamine attachments. You’re depressed because your being has nothing to look forward to. You are striving for nothing. You sit on your phone & touch your flappy little micropenis and wonder why you’re fucking depressed. Many guys have energy but they are stuck in their own little dopamine prisons. They are consumers and not producers. This is the 2nd level you must fix. Audit everything that is giving you cheap dopamine & instant gratification and build systems in your immediate environment to remove them and keep them away. Pair this with fixing your energy & you won’t be a slave for long.
