Major media: HOLY SHIT HEAT WAVE SAFE ARE KILLING PEOPLE
Me, who's been trying to tell you this for a decade:

Tweet image 1

I guess Modi doesn't follow me on FB or Twitter, huh?

Look, this was all extremely predictable and, in fact, many people predicted it, not just me. No one can say they weren't warned and urged to do something about the problem, even if we couldn't avoid it.

India has had years to try to create cooling stations and look for other solutions, but they either didn't care or didn't want to spend the money on it. Now they've got 1.35 billion people in a place that is already not survivable for some of them and will just get worse.

Basically, the only people who can survive wet bulb heat waves are people with active air conditioning in their homes and cars. I get the impression that's not most Indians, especially non-rich Indians.

Oops. They're gonna lose their poorest billion people or so this decade.

Unless, of course, those billion Indians either leave or get AC, which would only make things worse globally. Why? Because AC requires massive energy to run and produces massive waste heat. You can't use ice boxes or swamp coolers in wet bulb heat waves, they don't work.

So either India precipitates a global climate apocalypse by like doubling the planet's number of running air conditioners very quickly, or they send their people elsewhere, or millions will just die every summer.

And this is just India, mind you. Now we can look at Mexico.

We can look at Southwest Asia and the US West, where heat deaths are already a thing. We can look at southern Europe and northern Africa and Central America. Anyone facing newly regular 100°+F temperatures that doesn't have as much AC as Tucson is in serious danger right now.

That's just the people btw. Even leaving nature and wilderness aside, most crops don't do well above 95°F or so - it's why Death Valley isn't Life Valley, you dig.

They don't really rely on local agriculture in India, though, do they? Farming isn't a big deal there, right?

I'm not smug, I'm fucking livid, because billions of peoples' lives are in the hands of people who are demonstrably dumber than I am. They were warned of an existential threat and they ignored it because they cared more about "economic growth".

Let's see how the economy grows when most of the world's ag belt is full of dead crops withered on the dry vine, you stupid fucking bastards. Just stupid. Every capitalist is mentally subnormal and should be displayed in carnivals for the amusement of rubes and children.

There's nothing I can do except try to tell people how to deal with this on their own since their useless hapless idiot leaders are worthless to them, and emphasize how stupid and worthless those leaders and the capitalists whose boots they lick truly are. Can't stop, won't stop.

But if you live in India and you don't have active air conditioning - not fans, but active cooling - you should probably get the fuck out and head for Kashmir or England or wherever north you can get to. You'll die badly if you stay. I'm sorry, that's all I can tell you.

I got out, and now where I came from is already 99°F on June 1st. By the end of the summer it might hit 120°F in Vegas - not Death Valley but Vegas.

If you've never experienced that, consider yourself lucky. I have on several occasions. There's a reason Hell is depicted as hot.

But my conscience is clear. I saw something and said something. I can't make Modi and Xi and Putin and Biden and all the rest less stupid and shortsighted. I warned people. Y'all can listen or not. That's not my decision to make.

But I'm never going to stop being angry and contemptuous of everyone who didn't listen. I'm only sorry for the billions who are already suffering because the rest of you like to elect mentally challenged assholes to help facilitate your idiot greed.

You did this. Own it.

GODDAMN FUCKING TYPOS
