Other benefits

This card now comes close to DCB but where it lacks against DCB:
- DCB base reward rate is 3.3% vs TB at 2%. And DCB milestone brings the reward rate to 5.8%
- The fee waiver is very high at 25L. DCB is at 8L
- Even though TB card has a 1.49% Foreign currency markup vs 1.99% with the HDFC premium cards. However with DCB you have the option of GVP + higher reward rate
- The chances of HDFC getting devalued are low compared to ICICI devaluing some benefits similar to the Magnus era.
Where it shines:
- This is a visa card to Diners acceptability is a non-issue with this.
- Higher voucher and flight/hotel reward rate via iShop compared to Smartbuy and higher monthly limit of accelerated reward points
- Countless soft benefits, if they work for you, take the card!
Why this would make sense, at least for first year:
You have spends on vouchers, flights and hotels coming up so that you can recoup good value even though the card does not give rewards equivalent to it’s fee.
