1/ I uncovered a coordinated network of 10+ accounts manufacturing viral panic about war and politics to drive traffic to crypto scams.
Strategy:
>Purchase accounts with followers
>Doompost multiple times per day
>Repost content from alt accounts
>Promote fake giveaway or scam
>Change username
2/ Example: @wanglaurentceo
They started by purchasing an account with followers and use AI to create a fake Asian version of Mario Nawfal.
(User ID 1804235884826333184)
3/ Here’s related accounts reposting to boost the reach of posts about exaggerated or fake news.
This causes them to go viral each day with millions of views and thousands of likes / replies.
4/ Meanwhile numerous large accounts in the replies and quotes fall for the engagement bait further boosting the posts reach unknowingly
5/ Behind the scenes the account hosts fake giveaways and promote crypto pump and dump schemes.
6/ Ten X accounts in the cluster all promoted the pump and dump crypto scam $ORAMAMA on February 22, 2026 before never posting about it again.
Onchain evidence suggests the scheme profited six figures.
I suspect they are farming engagement once again for another upcoming scam.
7/ It’s scary to think about the implications of it if a nation state actor operated the same scheme rather than a meme coin scammer given how easy it is to operate.
I believe platform manipulation should result in bans and face legal consequences given the propaganda has many X users currently falling for fake news every day.
Personally as a best practice I try to review recent posts and account details before engaging with content, due to how widespread engagement farming and AI slop / spam has become on social media ( it is not a problem that's unique to X).
The table below shows the X user ID of each account in case they change usernames or deactivate.
Update: All 11 of the mentioned accounts just blocked me
(almost as if they’re operated by one person)
