🧵 1/16 What's It Really Like for Christ Church Women: The following survey was created/distributed last fall by some women in the church. I didn't instigate it, but I was a respondent and gave my feedback on shaping the content of the questions and visualization of the results.

/16 Given the current state of the internet concerning all things Douglas Wilson and Christ Church and particularly the women of Christ Church, we thought these survey results might be of interest a broader audience. That's you! Enjoy the 🧵

/16 All women surveyed were church members prior to the significant growth period that occurred after 2020.

/16 The survey included women of post-college age* (22 years and older) only. *Note: The congregations are in a college community where a disproportionate number of attendees are students and attendance will flux from semester to semester and during summer months.

/16 Of those who responded, roughly 92% either are or have been married.

/16 Nearly 60% of the women who responded hold an undergraduate degree with almost 15% holding a graduate degree from a credentialed institution. Respondents pursued a wide range of areas of study at 30 different institutions - a mix of public, private, and international.

/16 Compiling the responses from the previous chart, we see that close to 75% of the women who responded have completed a college degree, and over 94% attended at least some college.

/16 The women who responded are readers—with the majority reading more than 10 books a year—and more than a third averaging more than 20.

/16 The respondents are also Bible readers, the vast majority of whom read the Bible every day.

/16 More than half of respondents have between 4 and 6 children.

/16 The majority of respondents chose a Christian school for their kids' education.

/16 Many of the respondents chose a different type of schooling than what they received themselves.

/16 Most women reported doing some kind of work outside of homemaking but the majority have done so part time. The type of work reported covered a wide range of activities, including teaching, nursing, design, property management, baking/catering, and athletic training.

/16 Does Christ Church teach that any given man has authority over any given woman? This question yielded nearly unanimous results.

/16 As for how the respondents dress, 100% wear pants. The majority also wear makeup, while head coverings during worship are fairly rare—but not unheard of.

/16 We can conclude that a majority of the Christ Church, Christ Church Downtown, and King's Cross women surveyed are: Married/ College educated/ Readers of more than 10 books a year/Pants-wearers/Past or current workers outside the home.
