[Q2 2024] Nintendo Results (April 1st, 2024 – June 30th, 2024)
Nintendo Switch shipped 2.1m units this quarter, down from 3.91m units last year.
Now over 143.42 million consoles to date.
Breakdown of Switch numbers by model:
• The base Nintendo Switch shipped 520k units (representing 25% of this quarter’s shipments)
• Nintendo Switch OLED shipped 1.24m units (59%)
• Nintendo Switch Lite shipped 330k units (16%)
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year-Door exceed 1.76m units in over a month.
That’s faster than Super Paper Mario (Wii) which sold over 1.74m units at launch.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD ship over 1.19m units in 4 days.
A similar debut compared to the 3DS version.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ship 930k copies this quarter.
Total sales are now over 62.9m units and counting.
Together with the Wii U version, the title now exceeds 71.36m units worldwide.
It’s the bestseller in the franchise.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now over 20.8m copies worldwide.
Adding 190k units this quarter.
It’s the 2nd bestseller in the franchise.
More than 40% of Zelda games sales were made on Nintendo Switch.
Pokemon Scarlet / Violet is now over 25m copies shipped worldwide, up 370k units in the last 3 months (reaching lifetime sales of 25.29m units).
It’s the fastest selling game in the series and the 3rd bestselling Pokemon title.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons now totals 45.85m units in 4 years.
That’s 60% of the entire series sales.
The game shipped over 490k copies in the last 3 months.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate ship 440k copies.
Now over 34.66m units shipped worldwide.
It's the franchise’s bestselling title, as well as the bestselling fighting game to date.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sold another 200k units this quarter.
The Switch version is now over 32.05m copies.
Together with the Wii U edition, the game surpasses 33.76m units.
Super Mario Odyssey shipped 250k units in the three-month period. Lifetime sales are now at 28.21m units.
It’s the bestselling 3D Mario game, with more than double the 2nd best - Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury (at 13.47m copies).
Pokémon Sword / Shield shipped a total of 26.35m units (+80k units this quarter).
This is the 2nd bestselling Pokemon game, behind the first generation.
Super Mario Party sold 180k units in the last 3 months.
Lifetime sales are now over 20.84m units, that make it the bestseller in the franchise.
The two Nintendo Switch entries represent more than 40% of the series total sales.
New Super Mario Bros. U close out the top 10 with over 160k copies in the last 3 months.
For a total of 17.61m units, which is triple the 5.82m units of the Wii U version.
