Thread My take on the horrific storm/flood damage in the southeast. From the period of time after WW1 and extending until well after WW2, there was a Golden Age of investment and development of large scale infrastructure in the USA.

The most famous example of this would be Eisenhower's Interstate System, but this extended into massive flood control, water storage, hydroelectricity, irrigation, and other water management frameworks.

What followed was something like a half century of neglect. Maintenance tapered off. The neglect was most visible with that same example of Eisenhower's Interstate. The rusting bridges. The potholes. And so on.

But there was a much larger and more powerful trend emerging. The neglect associated with the water management infrastructure. In addition to neglecting existing investments, the necessary expansion and improvement of these systems as populations grew...

...and further encroached into areas vulnerable to flood, vulnerable to dam failure, vulnerable to pollution, etc., was almost utterly ignored. For a long time the excellence of the installed infrastructure prevailed. And then the ingenuity of those...

...tasked with stretching these systems to their limits managed to keep matters within something approximating control. But we live on a plant marked with extremes, with a nature that lurches from catastrophe to catastrophe.

And now we see the effects of all of the accumulate half century's neglect being visited upon small towns and cities in the American southeast. America needs trillions of dollars to be invested in infrastructure.

Trump knows this. And this latest storm (and the ones about to follow) will prove it to the nation. The future belongs to the builders, the workers, the engineers, and the visionaries.

There is no more room for parasites, opportunists, careerists, and deranged fetishists. Those who have lost their lives, homes and communities are casualties in a war of a type we never imagined would happened in a land where the American Dream was supposed to exist.

Get out and vote for MAGA like your life depends on it. Because it does. God bless you all. END
