Everyone thinks David Goggins is insane…
I don’t.
I get it.
Here are 7 lessons I’ve learned from David Goggins:
1. Embrace discomfort
David Goggins preaches that growth lies outside our comfort zone.
He’s right - If you're comfortable, you're not growing.
Most people chase comfort and wonder why they don’t see progress… Don’t be like most people.
2. Extreme accountability
Look in the mirror and hold yourself accountable.
Goggins uses this technique not for vanity but for honesty.
Are you really giving your all? This daily confrontation is scary but needed.
3. Physical limits are just illusions
Your body can go much further than your mind initially allows.
Train your mind to push beyond your physical limits.
How else do you think Goggins completes ultra marathons?!
4. The 40% rule
This is one of my favourites.
When you think you're done, you've actually only tapped into 40% of your potential - Goggins learned this during his time in the marines.
This rule isn't just motivational talk; it's a call to genuinely dig deeper every single
5. Failure can be a teacher
Every setback is a setup for a comeback.
Think of it like this - How powerful would a person be, if whenever they failed, they learned from it and came back stronger…
This way of thinking can legitimately be a superpower.
6. You VS You
When you’re in the trenches… whether you’re on mile 14 or you’ve got 300lbs on your shoulders - You need something to keep you going.
While competition may come naturally to you, it can easily turn toxic.
So focus on being the best version of yourself and you’ll
7. Patience
Real success never happens overnight.
Depending on what goal you’re pursuing, it may take years of consistent effort to succeed.
You could do everything right but if you’re not patient, you’ll simply give up too soon.
