I realize we did this all in 2020, but once again, a reminder that some states are barred, by their own state laws, from tabulating votes until after polls have closed on Election Day. Those laws may be stupid, but the delays they produce are inevitable—and not evidence of fraud.
So when your favorite conspiracy theorists point to how fast *some* states are able to count their votes, it might be worth accounting for the differences in when and how those states allow counting versus others. (A uniform, national standard would be better, but c'est la vie.)
