What to do in Banaras - AN ITINERARY Banaras is known to be dusty, people having an eccentric way of talking, being surreally beautifully - ALL Of THIS IS TRUE 1/n Start with Chachi ki Kachori, early morning 8am sitting with aloo kachori placed on a tin along with 100 other folks hits different. Super yum, ate 24 puris between 4 of us followed by Jalebi - spent only 320 rs!

/n Right behind chachi ki kachori is this lassi shop with friendly owner - get your banaras feels 📍Pehlvaan Lassi

/n POPULAR TAMATAR CHAAT Every time you exchange a word with a traveller, you will hear them going on and on about Tamatar ki chat, do not believe them. It’s basic but well, try it by yourself! P.S.: Don’t forget to try their aloo ki tikki tho 📍 Kashi Chat Bhandaar

/n Are you a samosa fan like the 99.9% India? Try Next level Samosa chat in Varanasi Not sure what the shop name is, but you will find it on the way to Manikarnika Ghat 📍Crowded shop on the way to Manikarnika Ghat

/n Looking for a full-filling meal that makes you go crazy w options? Try their special thali, premium experience without the premium pricing 📍Baati Chokha

/n If you’re coming to banaras, you cannot NOT take banarasi mithai home along w namkeen? Try this super old shop 📍Madhu Bahar

/n This was the highlight of my trip tbh - a boat ride in the morning, got a private boat for our group for 3k - took us around all ghats for 2 hours, beautiful beautiful experience 📍 book via visit Kashi

/n Feed the Migratory birds! While you’re enjoying your boat ride, don’t forget to buy the bird food from the seller who sneakily shows up beside your boat. Feeding the birds was an absolute delight, plus you only see the carribbean birds in winters!

/n How to do quick darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Temple? We went at 9am in morning hoping to buy the vip ticket that is rs250 per head but it was so crowded, we came back. Went again at 9pm in evening, realised vip tickets need to be purchased 2 days before (can be done online

/n Drop by Banaras Hindu University for some energy. Ended up going in the evening, fire energy in the sports field. 📍BHU

/n Stay at Sri Yoga Mandir! If you want a simple place with great view and homely food, this is the place for you. Situated right at the ravidas ghat, its quiet and clean! 📍Sri Yoga Mandir

/n Manikarnika ghat will trigger all your insecurities about death when ashes will randomly fly on to your hair, but its an energy that you must experience. 📍 Manikarnika Ghat

/n Boat ride during dev deepawali!!! If you go during that time ofcourse. Super costly, 3k per head, but worth it, it looks surreal, there is a light show and firecrackers also! Be smart about leaving post the event tho, lakhs of people leaving together is not a happy

/n Try the banarasi pan!!!!

/n Few reccos that I got but couldn’t go - Malaiyo in Winters - Bindu Madhav Temple - Batuk Bhairav - Blue Lassi - Vishwanath ki mangal aarti at 3am - Saptrishi aarti in eve - Ramnagar fort Hope this helps! Happy banaras-ing
