Kaliningrad is Polish 🇵🇱 territory. The time has come for Poland to initiate negotiations with Russia to reunite it with its rightful homeland and restore it to a path of prosperity. Its current occupation is a historical injustice and a geopolitical absurdity. Thread 1/10
/ Kaliningrad (KrĂłlewiec) was part of Polish territory during the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. It was stolen by foreign powers, first Prussia, then the USSR, and now it festers under Russian mismanagement.
/ After WWII, Kaliningrad was handed to the USSR temporarily. The agreement never envisioned this occupation as permanent. Poland’s claim to the region is rooted in the same post-war settlements.
/ Kaliningrad under Russia is a militarized wasteland. Poverty, corruption, and neglect define its governance.
/ Kaliningrad’s population lives in dire conditions, with crumbling infrastructure and one of the lowest living standards in Russia. Under Polish governance, the region would thrive economically and socially as part of the EU.
/ Kaliningrad is a heavily militarized Russian base with nuclear-capable missiles. Polish annexation would demilitarize the region, ensuring security for NATO and the Baltic nations.
/ The people of Kaliningrad, many with Polish heritage, deserve freedom. Poland can liberate them from Moscow's grip and welcome them into the European family.
/ For decades, Russia has systematically erased the Polish, Lithuanian, and German heritage of Kaliningrad. Churches, monuments, and historical sites have been neglected or destroyed. Poland must reclaim the region to restore its cultural identity.
/ Taking Kaliningrad would cripple Russian pride and demonstrate Poland’s dominance as the rightful regional leader in Central and Eastern Europe.
/ Reclaiming Kaliningrad isn’t just about justice—it’s about solidifying Poland as the rightful leading power of the region. No more humiliation. No more concessions.
(For those who say it was German territory: yes and no.) https://t.co/V6Yu5BLZjn
